The shoulders are an expression of an aspect of your character. Shoulders also represent your attitude with which you handle life. The shoulders tell us how we carry out and handle our responsibilities as well. Do you feel weighed down and burdened? Do you carry the weight of the world on your shoulders?
Certain postures will indicate certain attitudes. For example, someone that holds their shoulders in a raised position will indicate an attitude of fear. Someone who feels that they carry the weight of the world on their shoulders and are hopeless will have more of a rounded posture. Shoulders that are hunched forward, causing the chest to cave in, will represent an attitude of self-protection and a fear of getting hurt, and may at times also indicate that the person feels that life is a constant struggle.
Pain may indicate an imbalance, frustration, or guilt. And, for example, someone with rounded shoulders, who is also experiencing pain may be feeling overwhelmed and burdened with their responsibilities, which could also be causing some frustration. If symptoms are experienced on the left side, it could be more in relation to family, relationships, and emotions. The left side represents feminine energy. Symptoms experienced on the right side could be more in relation to finances, work, business, and decisions. The right side represents masculine energy. In the same way, symptoms on the left side could quite literally be in direct relation to interactions and experiences with a female counterpart, just as the right side could be in direct relation to a male counterpart.
